Andy and I LOVE to go hiking, and we haven't let Luke stop us. We recently hiked some Cartersville trails (Pine Mountain and Cooper's Furnace) and decided to hike
Cloudland Canyon State Park today. This state park is about an hour from our house and I'm only disappointed that we haven't gone there before.

We started off a bit shakey. I was feeding Luke in the back seat of the car and all of the sudden my leg felt very warm...Luke's diaper leaked and it got all over us. Luckily, I wasn't too grossed out, washed it off my shorts, took off his shorts and socks, changed his diaper, fed him from the bottle we brought just in case he got hungry in the middle of the hike, and then finally headed out on the trail. He held us up a little, but that's allright!
Anyway, the scenery was beautiful! There are two waterfalls and to get in and out of the canyon you have to climb 600 steps! We did the Sittons Gulch Loop Trail and were worn out by the end! Luke wasn't tired though (since I carried him the whole way!) and didn't seem to want the hike to end as he started crying as we approached the last of the stairs to the top of the canyon - okay, maybe he was just hungry :)
And if you venture to Cloudland Canyon State Park and have some extra time, you might think about stopping at
Rock City only 20 miles away. Andy and I went there last year around this time and had a great time (oops - I was wearing pretty much the same outfit as today :)!
We even found some hiking trails nearby...aren't the leaves so pretty?!?
