Thanksgiving

I can't believe it's December already!!! Things have been very busy around here, which I'll blog about later, but first, here's a recap of our Thanksgiving...

Our Thanksgiving day started with Andy running a half marathon. He ended up placing first and last. Yep, that's right...he was the only one who participated in the First Annual Woodberry Place Mayflower Mini Marathon (M3). He was going to run the Atlanta Half Marathon but didn't want to pay the registration fee, so he mapped out a course from our house and made up his own. I even made him a (paper) finishing medal and a shirt for Luke.

While Andy was out running, I was cooking. It was our first year making a turkey (which turned out so good and juicy). We also had homemade rolls (which I somehow messed up even though I've made them many times), gourmet potatoes (excellent), stuffing (Andy didn't want me to attempt making this so we had the trusty Stovetop stuffing), green beans (cooked all day with bacon), and an apple pie (I didn't take a picture but it was yummy). And yes, that's a lot of food for 2 1/2 people...I'm still eating leftovers!

When we sat down to eat, I suddenly got a little depressed not being with family. Andy helped me get rid of that feeling by making me a strong drink :)

We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying our time together. It was nice! We took some walks around the neighborhood, started putting up some Christmas decorations, did some shopping, and tried to take a family picture for Christmas cards (but our camera died after only a couple shots).

We also got Luke's picture taken with Santa. He wasn't too excited about it and whined the whole time, but I still think the picture's pretty cute. The things poor Santa has to put up with!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We have so much for which to be thankful, and it's nice to be reminded of it from time to time. Happy December!
