Mamie's 4!

I can't believe Mamie turned 4 today!  Four years ago we were in the hospital and Nick, at age 22 months, was able to hold his new little sister.  He loved her from the beginning!  We're having Mamie's birthday party celebration next weekend, so tonight we decided to have a little dinner at home.  Mamie requested her favorite, macaroni and cheese, then it was time for cake.  I recently took a cake decorating beginner's class at Michael's (more on that soon).  While I'm not sure how many skills I gained at it, it has made me want to try to decorate pretty cakes.  Mamie saw this cake she thought it would be "perfect" for her birthday dinner.

Well, I definitely need more practice, but the birthday girl was happy with it!  I ran out of strawberry icing so I didn't get to add as many pink rosettes on top as I wanted to.  Also when using my Decorating Comb for the first time tonight, I scraped off too much icing on the sides so you could see part of the cake and I didn't mess with trying to fix it.  So not the best, but oh well!  Everyone thought it tasted great and that's what really matters!
